Roger began life in music with his first band in his parents basement playing drums in Brooklyn, soon after he began playing guitar and piano to facilitate his writing skills and collaboration with other musicians. After being asked to leave public school his parents put him in "Quintano's School For Young Professionals" a private high school for actors and musicians coincidentally directly behind the then Masterdisk location on west 61st street and Broadway.
1983 marked his first year in the music business at the Arista Records mailroom where he got a quick education on the psyche of people who made records and first met Arista president legendary Clive Davis. Roger fondly recalls being fired personally by Mr.Davis when his home phone bill was lost, with a good sob story the firing was rescinded the next day.
After Arista roger began his home studio where he recorded his band and began recording other local bands. The first project he recorded got played on several New York area college radio stations which was an accomplishment in those days.
In 1989 Roger became part of the Masterdisk staff, as an assistant tech wiring the studios new and present location on west 45th street. After becoming a digital editor and learning the craft roger began mastering.
